Photo Shoot Time!

A few weeks ago I worked with ” The Prowlster” for a photo shoot called “A Walk In Their Shoes…Part 4”. I got to work with the lovely fashion stylist Justine King as the model. I used Urban Decay’s “Naked Palette” to create this look. Every week I am going to show you how to create different looks from using this palette as nearly everyone has either 1 or 2 of the Naked palettes.

I started off by using “virgin” as the base, then used “naked” and “buck” matte colours on the socket/edge of eyes to build up the colour and create a bronzed smokey eye makeup look. I love using both of these matte colours to build up colour for a smokey eye as you can use the colours to lighten or darken the look. I then used dark brown shimmer “darkhorse” at the very edge of the eye for a dark shimmer look. When using shimmer eye shadows I always do my eye makeup first as I find the excess can drop down and you will spend ages cleaning up. For a quick tidy up I use cotton bud tips and some cleanser and tidy up the areas that need it. The last eye shadow colour I used was “half baked”, this is a gold glitter shimmer and I used this from the inner corner and worked out as you can see in the picture I used it where the lighten shades are. For under the eye I used the brush that comes with the palette and “darkhorse” to frame the eye and define it.

Now for the rest of the products I used on Justine. I used Benefit’s “Brow Zings Light”, I am a huge fan of brows and feel this product needs a whole page to itself so I will be covering how to get perfect brows in a later post. Of course They’re Real mascara was used and I used Bobbi Brown’s “Long Wear Gel Eyeliner” in black on the lash line. I find liquid liner can be a tricky one and I have just bought a new one as my Bobbi Brown one dried up on me, sad times! So I will show you best ways to get matching eyes as sometimes I would  have one eye perfect and the other one too big or out of proportion. For the blush I used a Stila light pink colour that I have had for years so I am afraid the name of  shade has worn off the packaging. Justine had a light tan on so I used Yves Saint Laurent “Le Teint Touche Éclat” in shade BR30. For the first look I wanted to keep the lips very natural so I used Benefit’s “Hoola” lip gloss which gave a natural look with a hint of shimmer. For the second look Justine used a red lipstick she had.

All of the products I used deserve their own blog post so I have not gone into too much detail about how to apply them and when to use them on this post. But don’t worry I will be doing detailed posts on all of the products mentioned and more.
