Two weeks ago I took a little holiday to the fabulous city of London. I have been to London many times before but every time I go it is completely different and that is why I love it so much. London like New York is exciting and vibrant. There is something about these two cities that makes them so attractive. An early start and a short flight and we had arrived. London unlike New York is a city that you can hit for a quick fix of just a weekend.

Like most girls I am a shop-a-holic, so of course when in London it would be rude not to shop! Weeks before my trip I contacted Topshop personal shopping and booked myself in for a wardrobe update. This service is free and is completely stress free. Topshop on Oxford Street is one of the largest Topshop’s and I really don’t think I could handle the normal ‘only 5 items in the changing room’ rule. The appointments are an hour and a half long and this is just enough time. I was greeted by Tessa and we started from there. Prior to this I had filled Tessa in about what I wanted from this shopping experience and my personal style. Tessa got it down to a tee and I was delighted with what she picked out for me. I wanted to update my wardrobe by adding some key pieces with an autumnal feel.
What was so great about this Personal Shopping experience was that Tessa picked out the key pieces and styled them with several different items of clothing taking the look from day to night. This is something I struggle with. What often happens is I buy a really cool skirt and don’t know what to wear it with but Tessa showed me how to style one skirt with several different tops. This service is completely free of charge and if you buy nothing from it there is no problem.
So here are a few of the looks that Tessa helped put together for me.
Tessa showed my this khaki green blouse and styled it with casual black skinny’s. I have plain black jeans so I decided to add an edgy look and went for black ripped jeans. Shoes, bag and accessories are my own but I love this shirt. Tessa also styled it with a black leather skirt to take this look into the night. I have learned that you can take something plain and transform it by accessorising it correctly and adding your own personal touch. These photos were taken in Hyde park which is just stunning. While strolling around you loose yourself and forget that you are in a city surrounded by millions of people.
This next outfit is one of my favourites. When Tessa first showed me this skirt I was unsure about what I thought of it on the hanger. Once I put it on I kind of fell in love. This look to me just screams autumn and it was so cosy too. Aran knit sweaters are on trend too, so my mom tells me. Perfect outfit for a chilly dry day before the wet winter. I have been meaning to go into The Sweater Shop in Dublin and pick up something similar. A friend of mine got a cute scarf in there, perfect for a cosy wrapped up winter. I picked up this hat and I really wish I could wear it all day. I am not usually much of a hat person but they are so funky and finish off an outfit.
