So in my last post I talked about the ITWBN Blogger Event and what I learned from the day itself. I love networking events as you get to chat with like minded people and have a great day out too. This Blogger Event is like no other and when the girls told me that the theme of the event was ‘Pink’ & ‘Glamour’ I was in my element. I love dressing up but even more I love to go all out. I always say I would rather be over dressed than under dressed to anything.
In today’s post I am going to talk about my outfit and the makeup I used to create my look. Before I start I would like to point out that I was dosed with a cold so if my foundation is not perfect I apologise. I needed a good long lasting foundation for the day and you really can’t go wrong with MAC Studio Fix. I wore shade NC20 with my Cocoa Brown Tan. I find they match up perfectly. Right now I am loving NYX products. I was only recently introduced to them and I really think I was living under a rock or something before because boy have I been missing out. I used NYX ‘Stay Matte But Not Flat’ on top of my foundation. My brows are as always Benefit’s Browzings. This is my favourite brow product on the market at the moment and just cannot live without it.
I wanted to keep it simple with my eye makeup and use Sleek ‘au naturel’ palette. This is such a handy palette and most of the powders are matt which are my favourite. I go through phases of using different eye shadow and this one is my current love. I am wearing Blank Canvas ‘Borderline’ liquid liner. It was a first time use of this product and I really liked how intense the liquid was. I hate nothing more than an average blank liquid liner. The eyelashes that I use are Eylure 101 and these bad boys are always in my makeup bag. They are so natural but just give your eyes the list they need. Strip lashes are incredibly handy and you can use them over and over again once cleaned. At Christmas I decided to treat myself to the Charlotte Tilbury contouring set. It is just flawless and I don’t think I have ever loved a makeup product more than I have loved this one. Contouring is huge right now and practise makes perfect with it. On my lips I am wearing NYX Butter Gloss in shade ‘Strawberry Parfait’ and this is just a little beauty. Non sticky and tastes fabulous! I used my Babyliss curler on my hair and used Elnett hairspray from L’Oreal Paris to hold it in place.
Now onto my outfit. I am afraid that only one of the items I am wearing is sort of ‘new’. My headpiece is from ASOS and I got it a couple of weeks ago. I bought it with festival fashion in mind and knew that an event would crop up that I could wear it to. I often think that when you are not looking for something specific that you pick up the most beautiful pieces. Lucky for you girls my head piece is still in stock on ASOS and you can buy online here.
My dress, shoes and handbag are all from Topshop and I bought them 4 years ago on a trip to Edinburgh with my mum. When I bought this dress I didn’t buy it for a specific reason but just that it was sparkly, fabulous and very me. I have since worn it loads but I keep it in ‘the special section’ in my wardrobe. You can never go wrong with a good pair of wedges and these are a must in my wardrobe. A girls shoes tell a story on their own and must always be fabulous! I felt like a fairy princess in my outfit which made me feel so good because I has been pretty sick in the days up to the event and thought about not going at one stage I was so sick!
